Welcome to my classroom!  To prepare myself for a career in teaching, I completed a Business Education, Data Processing major and English minor from CMU, as well as a Master's in CTE (Career & Technical Education) from WSU. To enhance my skills, I earned my CIW (Certified Internet Web Professional) Site Development Associate Certification in 2011. Also, in 2012, I became certified as a CSS Developer.

When I entered the workforce in 1986, I taught business classes such as General Business, Accounting, Electronic Typewriting, and Business Law at Tekonsha High School and then DeWitt High School.

In 1991, I moved to Macomb County and entered the business world, serving as the Executive Director of the Macomb County Bar Association (MCBA) for the next five years. Basically, I was charged with running a company and reporting to a board of directors and various committees. The MCBA granted me hands-on experience with business management, accounting, technology, human resources, mediation, marketing, community service programs, event planning, and publication design and editing.

After my son was born, I returned to teaching in 1996 at first Clawson High School and then Oxford High School in 1997. The big surprise upon my return was electronic typewriting no longer existed. I was now destined to teach in a computer lab, using initially stand-alone computer systems with floppy disks for storage. (As a sideline, there was no Internet access!) As technology continually evolves, so does my career. Now, I teach Animation & Digital Imaging, Web Design 1 & 2, Webmasters, Multimedia Design & IT, and Digitools. During my employment at Oxford High School, I have been awarded the honor of being Teacher of the Year twice.

In addition to my teaching duties, I serve as the CTE Coordinator for Oxford Schools. This position entails completing all required state added-cost funding reports for the district, applying for new funding initiatives, writing curriculum, as well as working toward ensuring that Oxford's CTE programs meet a plethora of local, state, and federal guidelines.

In my spare time, I love to travel and spend time with my son, husband, grandchildren, and family. Additionally, I enjoy walking and socializing with friends, reading, playing tennis, and volunteering at the K-9 Stray Rescue League.

I am committed to working as a team with students and parents/guardians to develop strategies that will assist students in being successful in my classroom.  Please contact me with any questions, concerns, or questions.
