2009

Welcome to my classroom. I started teaching Digital Media Arts at Oxford High School in the Spring of 2009. Prior to coming to Oxford, I was responsible for creating two additional Digital Media programs at other schools in Southeast Michigan.  I began teaching in 2003, after nearly a decade in the broadcasting industry. I have worked as an on-air radio announcer, television director, producer, documentary filmmaker and technical consultant--too much to list here (but ask if you're curious!)  I continue to work part-time at WDIV-TV (NBC) in Detroit as well as teach classes at Lawrence Technological University and University of Michigan - Flint.

At Oxford High School, I teach Digital Media Arts Levels 1 & 2, Movie Writing and Production, and News Broadcasting.  I am the advisor for the Digital Media Arts Club, SkillsUSA, and MIPA (for our news program.)  I continue to work to develop the opportunities for students in the DMA department.

While studying at Michigan State University, I had the opportunity to study abroad. That experience changed my life and my outlook on the world.  Since then, I've been an avid traveller and a proponent for student travel experiences.  I also speak at conferences and teach student media workshops.  We've done them in Michigan, Kentucky and as far away as Slovakia (we will travel to Oman this spring)!
