JOINED OXFORD COMMUNITY SCHOOLS
July  2010

I eagerly entered the field of education in 1989 as a high school English teacher in Northern Michigan where I was also afforded the opportunity to coach football, basketball and track, direct the spring musical, serve as student council advisor, as well as oversee several after school clubs and activities.

In 1992 I assumed the role of assistant principal/athletic director and began a rewarding administrative career that included positions as building principal in the Jackson area, Gaylord, and Lake Orion.  Since 2010 I have been fortunate to join the Oxford team where I serve as building principal and enjoy the opportunity to work with talented, hard working and caring educators, a community of supportive parents, and a positive, kind, fun and energetic student body.

I was fortunate to be granted the duty to assist in the development of the International Residence student program at Oxford High school and continue to enjoy the opportunity this venture provides for all students as this program flourishes.  Currently, I enjoy the task of implementing the Arts Conservatory that has already launched two of the six programs within the vision.   Additionally, it has been a privilege for me to be trained in the leadership of an International Baccalaureate school and to be able to experience the growth within the learning environment as a result.  Oxford is a unique and special place to work!

Since 2002, I have served in the Michigan Army National Guard and have prior active duty service.

I continue to be a die-hard Detroit Lions fan and sports enthusiast.  I also enjoy traveling with my family, spending time with friends and relatives, cinema and live theater, and dining out.  My wife, Lorra and I married in 1996 and are blessed with three children – Phillip, Madeleine and Sawyer.

Once a wildcat – Always a Wildcat!  A wonderful community, the best teachers and students who evoke love and compassion make this a place I am proud to call home.
